Nursery shopping

The boys are off for school vacation this week. I have been wanting to got to Pottery Barn Kids to see some bedding in person. It is hard to go when I have to do preschool pick up so all 3 boys and I made the treck together today. They did not know they were going nursery shopping. They thought they were getting a a real treat by going to the mall with the Lego store in it. And wouldn't you know that PB Kids is directly across from the Lego and GameStop store. I put in some good time ooh-ing and aah-ing at many Lego boxes and then mustered up interest in the many Wii games that are out there. Then I announced that it was Mommy's time to pick a store. It worked like a charm. This is what I went to go see. Very pretty and very girly!

Unfortunately they did not have the crib bumper and quilt in the store ( internet only). They did have the twin bed quilt there so I got to see the true colors. I really like this style. The only drawback is that I wanted the thicker bumpers they are now making and this is the thin quilt version.
A special thank you to Joanna & Beth on how to upload and move pictures:)

Butterfly Girl, Won't you come home tonight?

I have changed the background to my blog. I used http://izziegraceblogbackgrounds.blogspot.com/. They have really cute blog backgrounds and for free. Love it! I found this cute one with butterflies and just had to try it out. Many in my family know my butterfly story. Ever since I felt the pull to adopt I have been seeing butterflies. Lots and lots of butterflies. So here is hoping that Butterfly girl finds her way home soon.

Happy Birthday Josh

Today my baby boy turned 9. I can't even believe it! Josh is such a sweet, sweet boy. He is proudly wearing his new Red Sox jacket. He is a die hard Red Sox fan and knows more stats on players and specific games than anyone I know. He was surprised and thrilled with his jacket when he opened it and put it on immediately. Josh had a great day today. He had special pancakes with a little whipped cream on top to start the day. He celebrated at school having a special lunch with his teacher and a few friends. He picked pizza for his birthday meal and chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and rainbow sprinkles. We will be celebrating again on Friday with a friend party. Fun, fun fun! Happy Birthday Josh!!!!

My quest for a pink lovey

I have been on a search for a lovey for our baby girl. My youngest had a great lovey. It was the Gund Dottie Dots blue puppy. It was a puppy head attached to a soft blue with white polka dots blanket. Once we got on the wait list I bought the pink kitty version of the "puppy". I have bought it for many friends and it has some king of magic where the babies just LOVE them. My nephew William loves his puppy just as much as Jake loves his.

Well as we are getting closer to referral I started looking for another pink kitty. I wanted one to send over in a care package and 1 to bring with me. From experience I have learned that 1 is never enough. 2-3 is really the perfect number. 1 lovey in rotation, 1 clean lovey ready to be given as the 1st needs to be washed and 1 lovey waiting in case a lovey goes missing or lost. Wouldn't you know that the pink kitty ( and the whole Dottie Dots collection has been retired!). I have visited every website that google has matched with the Dottie Dots kitty. Nothing, nada, it is just gone.
The good new is that while searching for the new Gund model I found this new pink kitty lovey by Angel Dear. Even better is that it is carried at a local Hallmark store. They had a few different pink options: kitty, lamb, hippo and bunny. I was drawn to the bunny. I did let Jake ( the lovey master) pick the new lovey for his baby sister. He chose the kitty. I was very excited to purchase 3 pink kitty loveys. I did buy the bunny one for baby Alyssa. I will pass the original Gund over to my friend Erin's daughter who is down to just 1 "huggy bear".
Also- My cousin Michael informed me that I had a few typo's throughout my blog. LOL. I spell check, re-read and double check my "work" but I honestly can not see my own typo's. I actually got in trouble in Grad school for turning in work with typo's. I have determined that it is a small learning disability that goes along with my b,d,p confusion and transposing of numbers ( that is my self diagnosis as a speech pathologist) So if you see a typo (that I did not) please forgive me:)

Sing it loud, Sing it proud

We had a very fun weekend here. My cousin Mike and his wife Shannon came to visit. We got to meet the newest member of our family, the beautiful Alyssa! Alyssa was born on December 17th and is just 7 weeks old. She is just so sweet and it was a treat to get to hold and feed her. It was neat to think that my baby girl could be just about that age. Unfortunately I did not bring my camera with me so I have not picture to share of her and her brothers.

Jake performed in his school's winter concert this Sunday. He looked very handsome and really had a good time singing with his friends. Here is a picture of him up on stage (2nd from left) and when he was done. Way to go Jake!!

Our homestudy update was completed last week and we are waiting for it to be released to our placing agency. It was officially stamped today. Yeah! As soon as it gets to our agency they will begin translation so we will be READY!

Update: While writing this post I got word that my homestudy update is being fedex'd tonight. Yeah!

A little pink in the house

A few weeks ago I gave my Mom the go ahead to buy some girly things. Here is a picture of the cute little doll she found. So fun! Things have been very quite here on the adoption front. Taiwan is celebrating Chinese New Year. It is now the Year of the Ox. I think it is very similar to when we celebrate Christmas and New Years as most businesses either close or keep a very small staff on while everyone celebrates with family. I am hoping that a referral will come in the next few weeks.
The second picture here is something my 7 year old came home with yesterday from CCD. He is studying for his 1st communion in May and just celebrated his 1st penance ( confession) last week. I really do not know what the topic was or what this picture is supposed to do with God. The teacher didn't ask to speak with me after class so I guess it was okay. In case you can't make out the words it says. "If someone does something mean to you just punch them" For the record: This is not our family motto.
