Court Hearing (check), Summer Weather (finally)

Friday was the big day for our court hearing. Our hearing likely took place while we were sleeping on Thursday night. I watched the clock until 11 pm and send little prayers and words of encouragement to Taiwan for Lauren's birth mother, our case worker and the judge assigned to our case. I woke up at 1:00 am and 3:30 am and sent more prayers and encouragement. When I woke up on Friday morning I knew that our case should have already been heard. It was a relief to know that everyone has done their part to help bring Lauren home and now the judge needs to review all the information and make his ruling. I have been waiting by the computer and phone nervously today in case there is news of our case. No news is considered good news so that is what I am hoping for. I am still nervous that the judge will need another bit of information or has a question about our case. Lets hope not.

In other news...It finally stopped raining. Thank God! It truly rained for over 3 weeks and when it wasn't raining it wasn't especially warm. We had a small break in the rain on the 4th of July which was good. The boys decorated their bikes and participated in the Independence day parade. They did a great job and were able to steer their bikes and throw candy to the crowd (the highlight for Jake and Matt). A big thanks to Uncle Paul for running out to the store and picking up the candy in the morning. Here are my boys at the end of the parade enjoying the Popsicles that were given out.

The boys have been enjoying the beach. They are fearless in attempting to catch the perfect wave.

Matt is REALLY good at catching waves and riding them all the way to the shore. What a cutie!

On yet another rainy day at the beach we decided to go crabbing. We bought some bait and the boys threw out their weighted traps. Here is Jake pulling his trap up with a crab .

Matt is the only one who is not afraid to pick up the crabs and throw them in the bucket.

Here we are taking in the view. We took our crabs home and my Mom made us some delicious crab sauce. Jake was not sure of it but ended up liking it.

We are still awaiting updates on our girl. They definitely should be in this week, so check back in with us.

  1. I so hope that you will get a quick first ruling. And those updates I know we are so overdue for them this month.

  2. I am so happy you had your hearing. Let's hope for a fast ruling now. Hopefully the birth family home study has been completed and was the reason for the long wait for the hearing. I was also a wreck the night of our hearing, so worried, emotional and trying to give words of encouragement in the direction of Taiwan. Congrats on this milestone.
