Happy Gotcha Day Baby Girl!
Today it has been 1 year since I first held my baby girl. I cannot believe that a whole year has gone by. Waiting for Lauren felt like it took so long and now a whole year has flown by. One year ago I was blessed to be handed the most beautiful, intelligent, funny, feisty and sweet little girl. Last year on this day Lauren was so scared and so sad it broke my heart. I am happy that this year she is a happy little girl and calling me Mommy. We are celebrating this day with pink cupcakes. We will have a bigger celebration on our Forever Family Day later this week. The day that we were all together finally...forever.

ReplyDeleteAfter I read the title of your post and was waiting for it to appear on the screen I was thinking your first thoughts in your post. I can't believe it has been a year since hearing your prep for Lauren, then following your travels in Taiwan to hold her in your arms forever. For our family, this means we have been waiting this long, have switch agencies and programs and we are still just beginning this journey again. It is a LONG wait. Then again, when comparing this to day to day life with the rest of our "brood", I know and it will feel like time is a rocketship, once we too are holding our bundle of joy in arms.
Happy Gotch Day! You, as always, assist, through your sharing of your own life, those of us waiting. It will be above and beyond all this effort and nerves, you prove it here, and that sweet daughter of yours does, too, in this beautiful picture. ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Lauren is just beaming. It seems like we wait forever to finally be with our children and the days just fly by so quickly. I loved reading about your time in Taiwan because a month later, I was there meeting my daughter for the first time. Such an amazing experience!

Beautiful! Congrats! I also can't believe how fast time goes by... it leaves me feeling both overjoyed and like I missed something.

Lauren is sooooo beautiful! Happy Gotcha Day (we are celebrating Janie's today). It is so hard to believe how quickly time flies now and how slowly it seemed to move during the wait!!
